Two detectives were escorting Lee Harvey Oswald through the basement of the Dallas Police Headquarters in Dallas, TX when Oswald was shot at point blank range on live TV. America witnessed two assassinations in November of 1963. Both were coordinated attacks. One on the sitting president of the United States. The second, on his alleged assassin.
I spent some time shooting, er, filming, in Dallas last week. And today would’ve have been JFK’s 104th birthday!
My obsession with the dark side of Hollywood began on the grassy knoll in the shadow of the Texas School Book Depository. When I was 15, my grandma would drop me off at Dealey Plaza on our way to my mom's chemotherapy appointments at Baylor University Medical Center. That summer, I read Helter Skelter for the first time on the Grassy Knoll. Sharon Tate was also from Dallas. Twenty years later, I found myself in the backyard of Lee Harvey Oswald's former home, a two-story Craftsman duplex in the heart of the Oak Cliff district of Dallas, questioning everything I thought I knew about Oswald.
